

Under the auspices of NOBAN (http://www.noban.de), a job training network will be realized that will integrate businesses as well as other key regional stakeholders such as industry associations, municipalities, administrative regions, regional employment agencies, private sector job training providers, institutions of higher learning, secondary schools, and trade unions.
In realizing the project, NOBAN will collaborate with and leverage the potential of existing job training initiatives, alliances, and associations, and will work toward increasing the scope of public-private sector partnerships.
Four industry specific networks will be established so as to allow for inter-organizational collaboration within the following sectors:
A steering committee based on a partnership between Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (vbw) and DGB-Landesbezirk Bayern will support NOBAN’s activities, which will be organized and implemented by Forschungsinstitut Betriebliche Bildung (f-bb gGmbH).
The project is being realized under the auspices of the German Ministry of Education and Research STARegio initiative, which supports job training programs in the former East Germany, where demand for traineeships far outstrips the region’s capacity to generate and develop them. NOBAN is jointly financed by the EU and the German Ministry of Education and Research. STARegio is coordinated by the Federal Job Training Institute (Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung (BIBB)).
