Short description
With the demand of qualified skilled workers rising, and the numbers of school leavers decreasing at the same time, enterprises have increasingly been focusing on job applicants with performance deficits. Young people with learning difficulties or language deficits, however, during training need special support for their development potentials to unfold. Yet, small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular, often lack both the resources and vocational-pedagogical competence necessary to lead to successful qualification juveniles with less favourable backgrounds. It will therefore be necessary to provide them systematic access to information on new occupations and forms of qualifications suitable for underachieving juveniles.
In cooperation with trainers and other VET-experts, concepts for target-group-specific support programmes are being devised to ensure the success of training provided to disadvantaged juveniles. These include practical guidelines designed to support both companies and external actors such as external training managers and educational providers in the preparation, implementation and reviewing of training programmes.
Aims
The project, which aims to support companies in their efforts to provide training to underachieving young people, pursues the following partial tasks:
- providing information to enterprises about new and re-organised occupations;
- compiling good-practice examples of both internal and external support measures;
- drawing up a guideline for enterprises and educational providers.
