Short description
Despite Germany’s high employment rate, businesses frequently have a hard time finding qualified personnel to fill vacant positions. Oftentimes, none of the applicants for a job are genuinely suitable for it. The information provided on diplomas and certificates does not provide an adequate basis for vetting candidates since such documents do not describe all of the candidate’s job qualifications. This is where the “Transparent job qualifications” pilot project comes in. The project will work with businesses to elaborate informative certificates based on actual job requirements. This will help to increase job qualification transparency, which will in turn improve the quality of hiring decisions as well as workers’ career perspectives.
Aims
The goal of the project is to make job qualification documentation more informative. Businesses, and particularly SMEs, need certification instruments that dovetail with their operational requirements. Operational praxis should be based on praxis oriented methods that integrate the content and results of various learning modalities. Such methods optimize workers’ job security and improve their career perspectives both in their present jobs and for any position to which they may aspire in the future.
