IMPLEC - Bavarian business implementing the European Credit Systems for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET)

This project is being accomplished by bfz Bildungsforschung.
Research area
Internationalization of vocational training
Short description
The Europe-wide “European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET)” is intended to increase the international transparency of educational qualifications in Europe. If the Bavarian economy is to profit from this Europeanisation of vocational training, then the users of ECVET must be familiar with it, its possibilities and its procedures. In the implementation process, publicity work plays an especially important role. By making business, and in particular medium-sized companies, familiar with the ECVET system, this creates the preconditions for large-scale participation of business in the system. The IMPLEC project contributes to this goal by means of the development of a web platform to distribute information and organisation of conferences and workshops for Bavarian businesses.
Aims
- The companies are made aware of the issues concerning the Europeanisation of vocational training.
- They will be more involved in the activities concerning the business-related implementation of ECVET.
- Identification of opportunities for the testing of more flexible procedures within the German two-track system of training.
- Need for improvements is reported at the political level.
