Short description
The “ECVET reflector” research project analyses the relationship between the nascent ECVET and the national systems with respect to
- the appraisal, validation and certification processes for skills gained through apprenticeship, and
- the accumulation, capitalisation and transfer processes for skills gained through apprenticeship
in order to identify both the obstacles as well as favourable conditions encountered by the ECVET in the various European countries.
Aims
The analysis is aimed at
- making qualified proposals as regards the design of the ECVET so as to cater for adaptability throughout Europe,
- advising actors in the field of VET operating in the various countries as to how to devise measures and instruments suitable to guarantee the successful implementation of the ECVET, and thereby
- contributing to enhanced mobility of apprentices (adolescents and adults) during vocational education and training.
As regards methodology, a multi-tier approach will be adopted to guarantee representativeness of the obtained results:
- source collection and evaluation (especially comprehending use of relevant Cedefop studies)
- proposal of an analytical tool to be devised by the project core team,
- review to be carried out by an enlarged circle of project partners,
- adaptation of the instrument on the basis of expert surveys carried out in the 32 target countries participating in the study (the Member States of the European Union, the EEA countries, the candidate and pre-access countries).
The quality and representativeness of the proposed study will be ensured also by the involvement of key actors in the field of VET policies as well as of experts from national vocational education and training establishments in the project consortium.
