Five universities within the Greater Munich area higher education network (Munich, Landshut, Ingolstadt, Augsburg und Rosenheim) have, in cooperation with the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) [Bavarian Economic Educational Association], founded the Bavarian Academy of Management and Technology. The aim is develop ways of meeting the demand for qualifications, at both certificate and master’s level. Close cooperation between business and the universities allows continuing education opportunities to be developed for staff and managers to meet tomorrow’s needs for qualified staff. f-bb is supporting the development and distribution of these tailored continuing education solutions.
The aim of the academy is to use close cooperation between business and universities to provide business-related academic qualifications for skilled and management staff and to combat the shortage of skilled staff by means of continuing vocational training. There is already today a great need for skilled staff, above all in the technical sector. This shortage hinders dynamic economic development and will not be able to be dealt with in future by means of first university courses alone. Long-term economic success can only be ensured if employees are continuously learning new skills throughout their careers. This applies especially to technical fields, which are marked by short product cycles and continuous innovation.
The unique feature of this project, a first for institution cooperation between business and academia, is the shared development of the solutions. Experts from the bbw group are working together in the development process with the participating universities and companies on the design of the final product.
