Vocational training and demography

The decline in the numbers in the middle age ranges in the workforce, the extension of working lives which is to come and the cuts in early retirement are creating new challenges in the realm of personnel management. In future, older employees will need to perform a key role in companies.  But the demographic changes are having effects outside of the firm, too. In order to avoid difficulties with age, future generations of older people will require better opportunities for life-long learning. In order to avoid social inequality between age groups, it will also be necessary to develop sustainable strategies for the integrated of older unemployed people.

The f-bb works together with partners from the academic and commercial worlds to develop ways of achieving fair HR policies for older people. Models and strategies are tested and disseminated to ensure the social integration of older people.
