Many companies are seeking to pay more attention to the qualification and development of their staff – not least given the increasing shortage of suitable employees. This has, however, to date led to only a limited increase in further training opportunities in firms. Small and medium-sized firms in particular require flexible approaches to qualifications, which take into account limited personnel, time and financial resources and allow company-specific approaches to be developed.
f-bb develops and tests qualification strategies which combine learning and work. It develops strategies for workplace learning and for new forms of cooperation of firms with learning networks for the purposes of personnel development. Those involved in occupational continuing education – the trainees themselves, company HR staff, managers and education providers – are actively involved in this research work.
